Happy Mother’s Day!

Reporting live from a field in Amishville and missing Mother’s Day at home. I’ve been away from my family for almost two weeks. That’s nothing compared to military moms serving overseas. My heart goes out to them and all moms who aren’t with their kids. I’m so lucky to have such an amazing husband, two super-rad kids and a feisty smart bull terrier. Love you guys – be home soon!

Finally! I’ve got a mini break working at my client in Philadelphia to thank Blossom Birth! Last weekend, I performed at their fundraiser and got to meet some amazing women. The feedback I got from their group was life-changing. A man came up to me and said: “Your material is clever. Your family should be very proud of you.” I’ve been thinking about that for days and letting it soak in like the California sun. Thank you for that! Thank you Blossom Birth for driving me around, taking me out, giving me a beautiful necklace I haven’t taken off and showing me amazing support!

There’s nothing like being invisible for an entire day. That’s what being an extra is like. You’re the lowest on the food chain at the shoot, and it’s a really good thing if you realize that. I loved being on the other side of the camera for a change. And, I’ve still got my dreams of being an SNL-like comedic actress. A girl can dream, right? I’ll hang at the bottom of the chain if I have to. Yes I will. Met some really great people at the shoot too. Was it funny? Don’t have cable so haven’t seen it yet.

You need a TIME OUT. I can tell.

Oh yeah, we got stressed out enough today over here to make pigs in a blanket, tater tots AND insta-bake cookies. Rock on, comfort diet! If you’ve got stress, bring it on down to the show Friday night. There are only FOUR TIME OUT shows left – evah. So come on out!

Yeah, I wonder who’s getting some, too. Tonight’s my favorite TIME OUT show, Honey, I Shrunk My Libido. It’s also one of the LAST TIME OUT shows. We’re shutting down in June, so catch it now. Why are we shutting it down? Because I’m tired. Way tired. Producing, performing and marketing was worth it, but it’s time for me to move on. So hope we see you tonight. Oh wait! Do you even KNOW what a bobby pin is anymore? Or hot curlers? Or Aqua Net hairspray strong enough to seal your walls for winter? I went all up-do thanks to my friend, Trina at Vertigo Style downtown, for a recent TIME OUT show. If you missed it, we’re repeating the RETRO PARENTING show to fight hunger for Neighborhood House on October 22 at the Multnomah Arts Center. Guess the number of bobby pins required for this scare-do, and win a prize! Post comments with answers. What kind of prize? Well, I don’t know yet. How bout a dee-luxe can of Aqua Net just in time for Halloween!
